ADEL

Helen Croy Harris

Mrs. Helen Croy Harris, 79, of Adel died Dec. 2, 2005, at Memorial Convalescent Center of Adel.

She was born on Aug. 13, 1926, in Colquitt County to the late William Ebb and Tempie Matthews Croy. She was a retired certified nurse's assistant and member of Church of The Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Carl Harris.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Lamar and Sybil Harris of Adel, Ronnie and Debbie Harris, Nashville, David and Jackie Harris, of Adel; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and William Hoffman of Nashville; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Virgil Dean Croy, Bobby Croy, both of Tifton, Arthur Croy, Tallahassee, Fla.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel and Braddock Grimsley, Carolyn and Dwayne Stripling, all of Adel, Linda and Bobby Baldree of Sparks. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Angela Leigh Sirmans, and one brother, Vernon Croy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, in Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Sellers and the Rev. James Rice officiating. Burial will be held in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Berrien County. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. this evening at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Hwy. 41 South. -- Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Adel.





DOUGLAS

Bobby Louis Sinclair

Mr. Bobby Louis Sinclair, 78, of Douglas passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at Shady Acres Convalescent Center.

Mr. Sinclair, a native of Jeff Davis County was born Oct. 14, 1927, son of the late Arlie Isom and Anna Lou White Sinclair. He is the widower of the late Noirena Girtman Sinclair. He was former owner/operator of Sinclair Brothers Foodland Grocery Store and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force. A former director of the Sun Trust Bank, Douglas Division, he was a charter member of the Douglas Rotary Club and former chairman of the Coffee Regional Hospital Authority. His church membership was at the Douglas First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Polly Ann (Jerry) Sinclair Baker, Valdosta, Sue Sinclair (Steve) Miller, Douglas; son, David Louis Sinclair, Douglas; brothers, Stewart Sinclair, Duluth, James Sinclair, Douglas; sister, Eloise Sinclair Ulsh, Jacksonville Fla.; grandchildren, Cadie (Hal) Mills, Ray (Shana) Grantham, Don (Erin) Baker, Cliff Baker; great-grandchild, Tyler Grantham; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, in the Douglas First Baptist Church with Rev. Shep Johnson officiating. Marsha Gilliard, Pianist and David Van Wyk, Cello provided soft music for the prelude and postlude, the congregation sang, "Holy, Holy, Holy" and Gayland Collins, Soloist sang "Fairest Lord Jesus" with "Amazing Grace" by Louis Sinclair, Chimes. Burial followed in the Douglas City Cemetery. Active Pallbearers: Ray Grantham, Don Baker, Cliff Baker, Scott Sinclair, Ricky Sinclair, Ronnie Sinclair and Hal Mills. Honorary pallbearers were: members of Senior Adult Men SS Class of First Baptist Church, members of the Douglas Rotary Club, members of the Sun Trust Bank Board of Directors, members of the Coffee Regional Medical Hospital Authority, David Arnett, Bill Bacon, Ed Lee, James Taylor, Earl Watkins, Reggie Roberts, George "Bouncer" Smith, Jack Roberts, J. B. Olliff, Curtis Harper, Guy Moorman, Gene Wade, Billy Girtman, Bob Williams and Don Brooks. -- Sims Funeral Home, Douglas.

Mr. Walter Johnson, 79, of Sparks died Dec. 2, 2005, at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sparks Baptist Church with the Rev. Elbert Cox officiating. Chapel services for Mr. Leroy Knight Sr., 57, of Miami, Fla. will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 4, 2005 in Stevens-McGhee Chapel. Burial will follow in the North End Cemetery. -- Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home of Quitman.
