SPARKS

Frances Webb Greene

Frances Webb Greene, 82, of Sparks passed away Feb. 18, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center.

She was born on May 30, 1924, in Cook County to the late David Aaron and Vida Tyson Webb. She lived most of her life in Cook County. She was a homemaker and member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her husband, William Levi Greene.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Freida and Earl Joiner, Sparks, Sandra Greene and Vince Bruttomesso of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren, Christy and Robert Garcia, Toni and Louis Holder, Earl and Nancy Joiner, Timmy and Carol Rayle, Lee and Brandi Bruttomesso, and Joey Bruttomesso; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Bob Webb; and four half sisters, Bessie Stripling, Mattie Faircloth, Etta Bell Reed and Ida Dove.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at 4 p.m. at Brushy Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Parker and the Rev. Earl Buckholts officiating. VALDOSTA

Mary Hazel McDonald

Mary Hazel McDonald, 73, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Echols County, on Aug. 14, 1933, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Charity Hendrix Swilley. Mrs. McDonald was a homemaker and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Valdosta.

She is survived by her children, Rosa Anna Wallace of Ft. Myers, Fla., Stanley Lee McDonald Jr. of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; son, Michael McDonald of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Marizona McDonald of Valdosta, Rhonda Kay Jones of Quitman; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hester Kilmore of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Russell Leon Brooks.

Mary Frances Rowe

Mary Frances Rowe, 78, of Alapaha died early Monday morning, Feb. 19, 2007, at Tift Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

Mrs. Rowe was born in Berrien County on Sept. 3, 1928, to Albert Hardy Gaskins and Lilla Bell Bradford Gaskins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by an older sister, Irene, who died at age 8.

Mrs. Rowe is survived by a daughter, Joyce Anne Rowe Jones and her husband, Carlton Ellis Jones; a granddaughter, Lauren Frances Jones Moffitt and her husband, Clifton Moffitt; and a granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Jones, all of Hahira. She is also survived by a brother, Albert Harvey Gaskins and his wife, Clara Steverson Gaskins of Alapaha; a sister, Gloria Annette Gaskins Ferrell and her husband, Mallory Hope Ferrell Jr. of Peachtree City; her nieces, Brenda Irene Gaskins Thornton and her husband, Dannie Thornton; Sandra Frances Gaskins Starling and her husband, Jimmy Starling; her nephews, Stephen Harvey Gaskins and his wife, Yvette Turner Gaskins, Eric Bradford Ferrell and his wife, Susan Scott Ferrell. There are numerous great-nieces and nephews and church family members. She is also survived by friends and students from her many years of teaching who also enjoyed and benefited from her love, care and nurturing.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Stone, the Rev. Jackie Connell and Elder Robert Tucker officiating.
