George F. Fowler
George F. Fowler, 79, of Valdosta died Saturday, September 15, 2007, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on July 7, 1928, in Columbia, SC to the late Clair W. and Blonie Crout Fowler. He served five years in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Air Force and also retired as vice president of Atlantic Gulf Icing. Mr. Fowler was of the Baptist faith. He was also a volunteer for 10 years for American Red Cross at the Moody Air Force Base Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Richards Fowler of Valdosta; daughters and sons-in-law, Penny & Jose Foiles of Chicago, Ill., Wanda and Ray Mason of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Ester and Gene Williams of Pasadena, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, George Frank and Jeanette Fowler of Lufkin, Texas, Robert Dale and Martie Fowler of Dallas, Texas, Dr. James Allen and Cathy Stevick of Forsyth, Christian Matthew and Jennifer Stevick of Valdosta. Mr. Fowler is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, his brother, Donnie Fowler of Chicopee, Ma., and his uncle and aunt, Lee and Nina Fowler of Zephyrhills, Fla.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2007, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Woody Vaughn officiating. Sara Ann McKinney Meredith
Sara Ann McKinney Meredith, 60, passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, in her home.
Born on Aug. 28, 1947, in Cook County, Mrs. Meredith lived most of her life in the Adel area as a homemaker. She also lived several years in Durham, N.C. She was a member of Beulah Holiness Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sara Ann McKinney Meredith is survived by her husband, Richard C. Meredith, Creedmoor, N.C.; her mother, Ruth Yawn McKinney, Meigs, Ga.; two sons, Joey Meredith (Glenette), Stem, N.C. and John Meredith (Jamie), Thomasville, N.C.; two brothers, Eugene McKinney (Cynthia), Meigs, Ga. and Larry McKinney (Ancie), Valdosta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Toni Meredith, Tori Meredith, Trevor Meredith, Chandler Meredith and Wayne Crumpler; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Meredith was preceded in death by her father, Ralph McKinney, and one son, Ricky Meredith.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Beulah Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Sloan officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn City Cemetery. — Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Adel, Ga.

J. S. Skinner
J. S. Skinner, 79, of Nashville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at the South Georgia Medical Center.
The Nashville native, born June 18, 1928, was a retired insurance agent and army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. J.S. Skinner is survived by his wife, Wylene Marie Jordan Skinner, Nashville, Ga.; two sons, Donnie Skinner, Hinesville, Ga., and Johnny Skinner, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; three stepdaughters, Debbie Harris and Effie Brighton, both of Nashville, Ga. and Teresa Clanton, Atlanta, Ga.; three stepsons, Larry Clanton, Elkton, Fla., Curtis Clanton, Morriston, Fla., David Clanton, Winter Haven, Fla.; three brothers, Elder Robert Skinner, Lakeland, Ga., Kenneth Skinner, Nashville, Ga., Leon Skinner, Homerville, Ga.; 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by his father, John Skinner, and his mother, the former Leila Stone.
Visitation is Sunday after 5 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Lawson and Rev. Garvie Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Empire Cemetary. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville, Ga.
