(Kimbo) Boutwell
Aubrey Dane (Kimbo) Boutwell, 52, of Hahira died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at the Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Bainbridge on Aug. 29, 1955, to the late A.J. and Gracie Mae Avery Boutwell and had lived in Hahira for many years. Mr. Boutwell was a truck driver for Jim Hinton Oil Company and a member of the Hahira First Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Autumn.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tammye Boutwell of Valdosta; his granddaughter, Autumn Boutwell of Valdosta; a special friend, Cathy Covington of Albany; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Dennis Boutwell, Stacy and Vicki Boutwell, Steve and Laurie Boutwell all of Hahira; a sister and brother-in-law, Lana and Ray Turner of Montgomery, Ala.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Sumner officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Calhoun Wilson (Bill) Hendrix Sr.
Calhoun Wilson (Bill) Hendrix Sr., 84, of Lake Park died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007 at the Langdale Hospice House. He was born on Feb. 16, 1923, in Lowndes County to the late Thomas Walter and Fannie Lee Lyons Hendrix. Mr. Hendrix was a member of the Redland Church of Christ and an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and served aboard the USS Montpelier CL-57 and was one of the first trained radar technicians. Mr. Hendrix was a retired teacher and administrator for 42, years having taught math and industrial arts at Lowndes High, Madison County and Dixie County, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Wilhelmina (Billie) Martin Hendrix of Lake Park, his seven children and their spouses, Calhoun Wilson, Jr. and Anne Hendrix of Charlotte, N.C., Walter Adrian and Karen Hendrix of Raleigh, N.C., Wilma Rey and Barry Denard of Flowery Branch, Martin Lee and Terrie Hendrix of Columbus, Kenny and Linda Hendrix of Andalusia, Ala., Etrenda Saralyn Hammock of Valdosta, Andy and Teresa Hendrix of Marianna, Fla.; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Nikki Hendrix, Amy Louise and Don Steil, Josh Hendrix, Jennifer Hendrix, Heidi Hendrix, Frederick Denard, Curtis Hendrix, Ashley Hendrix, Justin Hendrix, Marisa Hendrix, Kendall Hendrix, Clayton Hendrix, Saralyn Singletary, Lindsey Hammock, Whitney Jacobs, Brandon Hendrix, Dalton Hendrix; step grandchildren, Julie Gaines, Becky Shead, Wendy Bergstrom, Sandi Denard; great-grandchildren, Reid Hendrix, Mary Peyton Hendrix, Brielle Steil, Frederick Denard II, Madison Denard, Camden Singletary and Justin Pierce; step great-grandchildren, Aubrey Gaines, Jeffrey Gaines, Wesley Gaines, Will Shead, Audrey Shead, Logan Bergstrom and Gage Lunsford; sister, Lois Moye of Tampa, Fla.; brother, Gerald Hendrix of Wilmington, N.C. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Malone Hendrix.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Bruce Barwick, Jr. officiating. George F. Fowler
George F. Fowler, 79, of Valdosta died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on July 7, 1928 in Columbia, S.C., to the late Clair W. and Blonie Crout Fowler. He served five years in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Air Force and also retired as Vice President of Atlantic Gulf Icee. Mr. Fowler was of the Baptist faith. He was also a volunteer for 10 years for the American Red Cross at the Moody Air Force Base Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Richards Fowler of Valdosta; daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Jose Foiles of Chicago, Ill., Wanda and Ray Mason of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Ester and Gene Williams of Pasadena, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, George Frank and Jeanette Fowler of Lufkin, Texas, Robert Dale and Martie Fowler of Dallas, Texas, Dr. James Allen and Cathy Stevick of Forsyth, Christian Matthew and Jennifer Stevick of Valdosta. Mr. Fowler is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his brother, Donnie Fowler of Chicopee, Mass., and his uncle and aunt, Lee and Nina Fowler of Zephyrhills, Fla.
Memorial services were held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2007, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Woody Vaughn officiating.
