Mrs. Dee Waldo, 94, of Adel, Ga. passed away Oct .12, 2012 at the Golden Retreat Personal Care Home in Sparks, Ga. She was born May 7, 1918 in La Farge, Wis. to the late William and Florence Shird Newlun. Mrs. Waldo lived most of her life in Wisconsin and has lived in Adel since 1995. She was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church in Adel and had worked for the Hercules Powder Co. in Wisconsin for many years. Mrs. Waldo was preceded in death by her first husband, Gurvice C. Coleman; her second husband, Art C. Waldo and one grandson, Michael Coleman.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws: Ronald and Mary Coleman of Adel, Ga.; Gary and MaryAnn Coleman of Manchester, Tenn.; two daughters and a son-in-law: Anita and Ron Bacon of Stevens Point, Wis. and Annette Martinez of San Pedro, Calif.; one sister, Dallis Faye Newlun and a special friend, Betty Tyson both of Madison, Wis.; nine Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 at the Antioch United Methodist Church in Adel with Rev. Jason Dickerson officiating. In keeping with Mrs. Waldo’s wishes she was cremated and her ashes will be carried to Wisconsin at a later date for a family service.
