VALDOSTA —
Bernard J. Jasinski Sr. (Ski), 74, died Oct. 15, 2012, of a lengthy illness in Gainesville, Fla.
He was born May 4, 1938, in Goshen N.Y. He was retired from the USAF serving 21 years; retired from the University of Florida with 12 years of employment and was the former owner of Ski’s Body Shop in Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Bernard and Mary Catherine Jasinski of New York, Bernard Jasinski Jr. of Valdosta and Patrick Jasinski of Macon.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Jasinski of Gainesville, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Robert Cates of Valdosta; two sons, Thomas Jasinski, Valdosta, Chris Jasinski, Valdosta; two stepsons and daughter-in-law, Gene and Crystal White of Gainesville, Fla., Robert White of Gainesville, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sister, Joyce Carlew, Tenn.; brother, David Jasinski, Okla.; ex-wife, Jane Jasinski, Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at William Thomas Funeral Home in Gainesville, Fla. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, in Bushnell Veteran Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
Viewing will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. — William Thomas Funeral Home, Gainesville, Fla.
