VALDOSTA —
Grady W. Moody Sr. of Blackshear died Friday evening, Oct. 19, 2012, at Mayo Health Clinic in Waycross after an illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Blackshear (Pierce County) where he received his formal education from the public school system. His parents were the late Arthur Moody Sr. and Elizabeth Walker Moody. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Pate Moody; and six siblings.
He was a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from Gilman Paper Mill in St. Marys.
Survivors include his children, Raymond Pate (Bernice), Grady Moody Jr., Milton Moody (Janette), all of Blackshear, Stacy Taylor (Marsha) of Waycross, Laneiser Moody of Brunswick, Lariesa James (Larry) of Fayetteville, N.C., Patrice Harris (Antwyne) of Blackshear; sisters, Lenora M. Brown (Bishop Isaiah), Hazel Carter (Bishop Arthur), Donna Clinch (Ival), all of Blackshear, Alneta Moody of Great Neck, N.Y., Darcilla Foster (Theodis) and Patricia Brown (Earl), both of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a brother, Thomas Moody (Cynthia) of Blackshear; in-laws, Willa Jean Moody of Blackshear, Mary Moody of Waycross, Bonnie L. Moody of McRae; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends are being received at the Moody residence, 3070 Cherry Street Extension, Blackshear.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Fluker Funeral Home of Waycross.
