VALDOSTA —
Kenneth C. Barnard, 66, of Lake Park, died at his home on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012. He was born in Screven, Wayne County, Ga., on Sept. 14, 1946. Mr. Barnard was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had been employed with P.C.A. for many years and was a member of the Lake Park United Methodist Church where he was a trustee.
Survivors include his wife, Doris McCollum Barnard; daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Brian Rehberg, all of Lake Park; his mother, Juanita Johnson Barnard Raulerson of Waycross; grandchildren, Tyler C. and Bailey Rehberg of Lake Park; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Ken Wheeler of Lake Park; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Lee Bennett of Macclesfield, England; grandchildren, Caleb M. and Roman E. Wheeler of Lake Park; Ryan and Brandon Bennett of Macclesfield, England; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Nell and Shannon Whimpy of Waycross; half brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Wanda Dixon of Waycross; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, L.J. Barnard; and a half brother, Raymond Raulerson.
The Barnard family wishes to thank Dr. Tim Brady, Dr. John Devine, Dr. Eric Anderson, the Pearlman Cancer Center and Hospice of South Georgia for the care and kindness extended to Mr. Barnard during his illness.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lake Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Anthony officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lake Park United Methodist Church.
