VALDOSTA —
Bob McCranie, 73, of Adel, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Memorial Hospital of Adel. Mr. McCranie was born April 16, 1939, to the late Ruben and Flossie Wheeler McCranie. He had retired from Del-Cook Lumber Co. and served in the National Guard. Survivors include his companion for 30 years, Velma Bennett of Adel; sons and daughters-in-law, Marty and Stephanie McCranie of Adel, Steve McCranie of Adel, Gary McCranie of Adel, and Danny and Diane Bennett of Sparks; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Glenn Stalvey of Barney, and Melanie and Kirk Hand of Adel; brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Evelyn McCranie of Adel; sisters and brother-in-law, Wanda and Settle Folsom of Adel, and Oneta Folds of Sparks; grandchildren, Bryce McCranie, McCauley McCranie, Laken Jarvis, Scott and Shanna Smith, Cori and Nathan Reynolds, Adrianna Ballard, Tyler McCranie, Dustin McCranie, Slade McCranie, Heather McCranie, Tabitha and Ken Moore, Kyle and Tiffany Hand, Hope and Lee Weaver, and Trevor Hand; great-grandchildren, Skyler McCranie, Eli Smith, Michaela Smith, Addison Reynolds, Jayda Moore, Annaleigh Weaver, Katelynn Weaver, and Kenlee Weaver.
Mr. McCranie was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Mozzo.
Funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Scott Smith and the Rev. Chad Roland officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Greggs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Purvis Funeral Home.
