Bertha King, 80, of Alapaha, died Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Holly Hill Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Berrien County to the late Curtis King and the late Geneva Woods. She retired from the United States Department of Education in Washington, D.C. as a home economics consultant. She was a member of Enigma United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Nelson King; and a niece, Pat Owen.
She is survived by her nephew, Stephen T. (Kathy) King of Hiawassee; sister-in-law, Lavan S. King of Valdosta; great niece, Sherry (Joey) Parker of Hahira; three great nephews, David (Peggy) Copeland of Bristol, Va., Michael T. King of Bristol, Va., and Jeremy Richard (Nicole) King of Woodstock; various other family members.
Graveside funeral service will be held Friday, June 22, 2012, at 2 p.m. in Sutton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville
