VALDOSTA —
Dorothy “Dot” McGill, 83, of Lakeland, Ga., passed away at her residence early Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, 2012. She was born Jan. 20, 1928, in Lanier County, Ga., to the late Gordon Cribbs and Bessie Lightsey Cribbs. She was Baptist by faith and enjoyed her flowers and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton McGill.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Lester Jr. and Shirley Lindsey, Wesley “Buddy” and Donna McGill, all of Lakeland; three grandchildren, Bryan McGill, Jennifer Lindsey, Danny and Maggie McGill; seven great-grandchildren; niece, Navada Gaskins, Waynesboro, Ga.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, in Pleasant Cemetery in Berrien County, Ga. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
