VALDOSTA —
Charles Maluda, 80, of Naylor, Ga., passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 1, 2013, at the Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center in Lakeland, Ga., following a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Berrien County, Ga., to the late Albert John and Ester Walker Maluda. He was in the automobile business as a car dealer and a member of the Unity United Methodist Church in Lanier County, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtice Hendley Maluda; two sons, Charles Keith Maluda Jr., and Alan Gregory Maluda; three brothers, Emmett Maluda, Tyson Maluda and Leroy Maluda; and two sisters, Evelyn Maluda and Mildred Winchester.
His survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jerry Saffioti of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Denise Maluda, Valdosta; sons and daughters-in-law, Victor and Jennifer Maluda, Montgomery, Ala., Rodney and Janet Maluda, Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Christine and James Benton, Naylor; grandchildren, Talarie and John Hayes, Madison, Ga., Magan Harris, Tallahassee, Fla., Addam Benton, Naylor, Kate Maluda, Beauford, S.C., Austin Benton, Naylor, Paige Maluda, Montgomery, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Braiden Lamont and Natalie Hayes; sister, Lillian Powell, Maitland, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Sherwood and Willie Maluda, Nashville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Unity United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Fender Cemetery in Lanier County, Ga. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services.
