VALDOSTA —
Georgia Ellen Buckholts Strickland, 72 of Valdosta passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. She was born on May 18, 1940 in Hahira, Ga. to Lucy Lehman and the late Carol Lehman of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her first husband Herbert Buckholts, her daughter Debbie Jacobs, and two sisters, Gordean Rentz and Jerranell Lightsey.
Survivors include her husband, Lacy Strickland of Valdosta; two sons and daughter-in-law, Steve and Chris Buckholts, Valdosta, Kelvin and Beth Buckholts, Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Joey Clanton, Valdosta; two brothers and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Darlene Lehman, Valdosta, Scott and Leah Lehman, Valdosta ; mother-in-law, Kathleen Strickland, Valdosta; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Lovett (Earl), Valdosta, Wynette Cardwell (Larry), Valdosta; brother-in-law, Carlton Strickland (Marty), Valdosta; step children, Tammy Beauchamp (Blaire), Chiefland, Fla., Vance Strickland (Dianne), Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with Pastor Brett Jarriel officiating with burial to follow in Lake Park City Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home
