Ilse Stephanie Willmann Brumbaugh, 88, of Valdosta died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at her home. She was born on March 20, 1924 in Breslau, Germany to the late Friedrich and Margot Willmann and had lived in Valdosta since 1960. Mrs. Brumbaugh was the manager of Gilberg’s Fabric Store for more than 25 years. She was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Our Oma was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first.
Survivors include her son, Michael Brumbaugh of Rockville, Md.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen and Clyde Morgan of Jasper, Fla.; Mary Brumbaugh of Valdosta; grandchildren, Stefanie and Mark Dobransky of Adel, Heather and Jim Duvall, Fiona Thomas all of Rockville, Md., Kristin Webb of New York, N.Y., David Webb of Valdosta; great-grandchildren, Emma Dobransky of Adel, Madaline Duvall, Sage Thomas both of Rockville, Md.; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Margot Sykes of New Jersey, Inge and Alfred Simon, Christa Ufftrint, two brothers and their wives, Klaus and Gerti Willmann, Lothar and Monika Willmann all of Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman W. Brumbaugh and a brother, Heinz Willmann.
A private service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with burial to follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Condolences to the family may be made online at www.mclanecares.com. — Carson McLane Funeral Home.
