VALDOSTA —
Willie Mae Tomlinson, 93, of Valdosta, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 8, 2013, at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Clinch County, Ga., on Jan. 21, 1919, to the late Dave Jonas and Caroline (Flanders) Delk. She loved her family, enjoyed fishing, playing the piano, watching the Atlanta Braves and cooking for family. She was a member of Francis Lake Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Tomlinson; son, Billy Ronald Tomlinson; and her 12 siblings.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Gerald Herndon, Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Ashley “Tom” and Cathy Tomlinson, Floyds Knobs, Ind.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews that brought her great joy.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Wayfare Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday.
