Earle Frederick “Freddy” Close, 53, of Macon, Ga. died Wednesday Jan. 23, 2013 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 18, 1959 in Honolulu, Hawaii to the late Earle Roland Close and Edith Avis Field. He was employed with the YKK Zipper Co. as a machine Mechanic and a member of the Nashville United Methodist Church. He attended Valdosta State University and Georgia Tech. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing. He was preceded in death by a niece: Katie Hendley.
He is survived by his mother: Edith Close of Nashville; three sisters: Donna Close of Nashville, Polly (Dr. Michael) Whittle of Cordele, and Carol (Wayne) Hendley of Nashville; niece: Leslie Montgomery of Nashville; nephew: Lance (Caroline) Hendley of Nashville; two great- nephews: Dallas and Eli Montgomery of Nashville; special friend: Marie McGraw of Macon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday January 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Futch and Mr. Kenny Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held this evening from 6-8 p.m. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.
