VALDOSTA —
Mary Helen McDonald, 84, of Hahira, died on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at her home. She was born on June 13, 1928, to the late Etheridge and Corine Futch Fielding and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. McDonald was a homemaker and helped her husband farm. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Leon McDonald, Robert and Becky McDonald; her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Darryl Callahan, Mary and Jim Hurd, Kay and Gene Gray, all of Hahira; her sister, Doris Sumner of Adel; sister-in-law, Ruby Daughdrill of Valdosta; grandchildren, Kimberly (David) Hogan, Johnny (Ragan) Duggan, Jennifer Holt, Michelle McDonald, Chuck (Chelsea) McDonald, Leslie (Shannon) Lyons, Shawn (Dee) McDonald, Kyle McDonald; 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard S. McDonald; and a son, Johnny McDonald.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Brinson Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
