Rena A. Brantley

-- — Rena A. Brantley, 91 of Lakeland, Ga. passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 in Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center in Lakeland, Ga. after a lengthy illness. She was born in Clinch County, Ga. on March 17, 1921 to the late Ezekiel and Sally (Hughes) Register. Mrs. Brantley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lakeland, Ga. She was employed with her husband, Sheriff Randall W. Brantley, in the Administration Office for the Lanier County Sheriff’s Department for 12 years. She also was actively involved with the Head Start Program and the Foster Grandparent Program for several years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randall W. Brantley and a daughter, Dorothy Nell Brantley.

Her survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Latrelle and Dilmus Richardson of Lakeland, Ga.; son an daughter-in-law, Darrell and Debbie Brantley of Hahira; grandchildren, Mandy and Marcea Verser, Ellis and Michelle Richardson, Nathan Brantley, Sarah and Brandon Rampey, Erin Brantley; great-grandchildren, Peyton Bush, Mary Ellis Richardson, Briggs Rampey, Kamryn Rampey; Great-Great Grandchild, Braydon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in the Lovejoy Cemetery in Lanier County, Ga. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the funeral service.
