When someone does a kindness, it always seems to me, that’s’ the way God up in heaven would like us all to be, for when we bring some pleasure to another human heart, we have followed in his footsteps and had a little part in serving him who loves us, for I am sure it’s true that in serving those around us we serve and please him, too.
Sylvia Patricia Cunningham Atkins, 71, of Valdosta Ga. passed away on Saturday February 9, 2013 at her daughter’s home, Belinda Copeland. She was born on September 14, 1941 to the late Carl W. & Florrie (Wisenbaker) Cunningham. She worked in the television department at South Georgia Medical Center. Mrs Atkins was a member of Dasher Church of Christ, DAR, Brooks County Jamboree, Mt Zion Music Hall in Lowndes, Lake Park Area Historical Society. She was a very loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors Include: Husband of 54 years, James Atkins, Valdosta Ga.; Son, David Atkins, Valdosta Ga.; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Belinda & John Copeland, Valdosta Ga., Theresa & Mike Freeman, Valdosta Ga., Angela & Mike Jackson, Savannah Ga.; 7 Grandchildren: Stacie Thornton (Todd), Jamie Freeman (Ashley), Amanda Freeman, Jeremy Jackson, Nicole Jackson, Tiffany Jackson, and Jadin Jackson and 3 Great Grandchildren: Averie Thornton, Carter Freeman, and Cason Freeman.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at11:00 A.M in the Valdosta chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
