Lucinda Wright Miller, 85, of Valdosta, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at her home in Valdosta. Born June 3, 1927 in the Barretts community of Lowndes County she was the daughter of the late Wyouse and Martha Bergman Wright. She was of the Methodist faith and served as a domestic.
Survivors are six daughters and four sons-in-law; Johnnye Mae Allen (Preston) Odessa, Fla.; Marie Butler (Lee), Washington, D.C.; Wanda G. Hodges (Tom), Atlanta; Gwendolyn Mears (Joseph), Jacksonville, Fla.; Marion Bess, Valdosta; Marie Toins, Omaha, NE: five sons and three daughters-in-law; Willie James Bess, Daytona Beach, Fla.; Michael Anthony Bess (Lashonda), Valdosta; Dewayne Bess, Davisboro, Ga.; Donald L. Bess, (Yolanda) Valdosta; Stanley B. Bess (Koppi) Twentynine Palms, Ca.; also surviving is a sister-in-law, Freddie Johnson, Largo, Fla.; 33 grand-children, 40 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Miller was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Gregory Moore officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
