Mary Skinner, 76, of Valdosta, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 evening at her residence. She was born in Berrien County, GA on January 6, 1936 to the late Willie D. & Mattie (Selph) Warren. Ms. Skinner was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She retired from Precious Treasures Day Care. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Skinner, Sr.
Survivors include daughter and don-in-law, Debra & Daryl Jones of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, John & Kathy Skinner, Jr. of Valdosta; two grandchildren, Kristen Skinner (Timmy) and Derek Skinner (Michelle); a great Grandson, Jacob Skinner; two sisters and brother-in-law, Goldie & Richard Dunlap of Tahlequah, Okla., Eloise Stone of Valdosta; brother, Franklin “Buddy” Warren of Fitzgerald; special companion Tiger; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with entombment following at Pleasant Cemetery in Berrien County. The family received friends Wednesday evening, Nov. 21, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
