VALDOSTA —
Margie Folsom Griffin was born on December 2nd 1933 and passed away with family by her side on November 27, 2012. Margie was the beloved wife of the late Harvey Stanford Griffin.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Eva Folsom. Margie was a loving mom and exceptional gardener, she and Harvey were multiple winners of Valdosta Garden Club's Yard of The Month. She loved to travel and won numerous dance contests with her husband on vacation cruises. Margie was a devoted Christian and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She and Harvey worked many hours supporting the Lowndes High School Band Boosters Club during the seventies. More recently after moving to Athens, Margie was an enthusiastic Georgia Bulldog Fan. She loved sports, dancing, music and most of all family and friends.
She is survived by three sons David, John, and George Griffin; two grandsons, Jason and Mark Griffin; three granddaughters, Sarah Griffin Donegan, Charlotte Griffin Holiday, and Allison Griffin Bridges; along with nine beautiful great grandchildren.

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Griffin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2012, in the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, Valdosta, with Rev. Dr. Rusty Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery, Hahira. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday prior to the services at the funeral home.
