Mr. George Leonard Piland went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 1, 2012, surrounded by his loving children. Born on Nov. 15, 1940, he was the son of the late William Leonard Piland and Mary Emma Hunnewell Piland. He was also preceded in death by his first born child, Betina Dean Piland; his brother Carroll Piland; and sister Carolyn Mathis.
Survivors include his sister Patricia Falbaum and husband Hartley; his children, Donny Leonard Piland and wife Judy, Debbie Lunora Southerland, Tammie Evelyn Norene and husband Robert, Kevin George Piland and wife Linda; grandchildren, April Christina Southerland, Danielle Lea Burch, Derek Ashton Piland, Jacen Timothy Southerland, Georgia Holly Norene, Tiffany Marie Piland, Justin George Piland, Michael Ryan Piland, Dennis George Piland, Aidan Mills Norene, Kayla Nicole Piland; great grandchildren Jacen Bryce Southerland, Robert Jackson Norene, and Josie Isabelle Southerland.
Allen & Allen Funeral Home will be handling arrangements. Graveside services will be held at Ochlocknee City Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Tuesday Dec. 4, 2012. Friends and family are invited to sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com — Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
