Charles Laifiaette “Junior” Keith Jr.

-- — Charles Laifiaette “Junior” Keith Jr.,  85, of Omega passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Omega Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Smith and the Rev. Walter Powell officiating. Interment will follow at the Omega City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors in Tifton.

Pallbearers will be Brent Harris, Brian Harris, Kevin Ward, Tyler Keith, Dennis House Sr. and Greg House.  Honorary pallbearers will include deacons and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Omega Baptist Church, M. C. “Tubby” Hawkins, Dennis House, Michael House, Jimmy House, Chris House, Josh House and Sonny House.

Mr. Keith was born on April 5, 1927 to C. L. Keith Sr. and Vora Anderson Keith, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Keith was a retired farmer and, for over 25 years, he drove a school bus for the Tift County School System. His hobbies included fishing, working in his yard, mowing grass, baseball, football, traveling and watching the Atlanta Braves. He loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of his family. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. He was a longtime member and deacon of the Omega Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty Copeland Keith of Omega; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Donny Keith of Fernadina Beach, Fla., and Mark and Kasey Keith of Omega; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ernest Harris of Omega; six grandchildren, Shannon Keith, Brent Harris, Mallory Keith Ward, Tina Keith Phillips, Brian Harris and Brittany Keith; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Keith, Wyatt and Keith Phillips, Brayden, Kinley and Reagan Harris; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ned Phillips of Valdosta and many nieces and nephews.   

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations can be made to Omega Baptist Church, Post Office Box 368, Omega Ga. 31775 or The American Heart Association, 305-1 University Drive, Valdosta, Ga. 31602.
