Douglas Richard Galloway

VALDOSTA — Douglas Richard (Doug) Galloway, 62, of Valdosta, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in a four-wheeler accident. He was born on Oct. 18, 1950, in Cedar Falls, Iowa to the late John Franklin and Catherine Betty Wise Galloway and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mr. Galloway was retired from Bayliner/Regal Marine and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed the computer, especially words with friends, doing repair work and playing practical jokes.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Galloway of Valdosta; his daughter and son-in-law, Catherine Denise and Darryl Sloan of Valdosta; stepgrandson, Andrew Sloan of McDonough; two sisters, Bobbie Jean Lanier of Charlotte, N.C. and Sandra Jo Willis of Valdosta; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Paula and Phil Corte of Venice, Fla.; Jo and Don Jordan of Hahira; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Willis officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
