VALDOSTA —
William “Jack” Hunter, age 81, died Monday, July 2, 2012, at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2012, at Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel with burial at Cherry Lake Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6–8 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home.
He was born in Grand Ridge, Fla., and lived in Madison County, (Cherry Lake, Fla.) since childhood. He was a farmer and won Outstanding Farm Family in 1967.
He was County Commissioner for 12 years and worked at North Florida Community College as a Custodian Supervisor before retiring. He was in the Army 82nd Airborne.
Preceded in death by parents, George Christopher Hunter and Edna Dudley Hunter; and sister, Willie Dee Bryant.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Jean Wynn Hunter of Madison, Fla.; one son, William Hunter (Debbie) of Greenville, Fla.; two daughters, Traci Mickel of Jasper and Janet Baldwin (Donald) of Lake Park, Ga.; one brother, Jim Hunter (Sue) of Cherry Lake; and six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
