Carlton Brooks, 51, of Valdosta, Ga. formerly of Albany passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Valdosta on July 4, 1961 to James Carlton & Betty Ann (Copeland) Brooks, Sr. of Valdosta. He was very active in the Jaycees serving as the State President and as the president of the Albany chapter. He was the owner and operator of Dixie Registers in Albany for many years.
Along with his parents he is survived by two sons, James Carlton “Jamie” Brooks of Macon, Ga., and Michael Brooks of Albany, Ga.; daughter-in-law Paige Brooks of Albany, Ga.; brother Gary Brooks of Lake Park, Ga.; and niece Lauren Brooks of Lake Park, Ga.
Per his wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 in the Valdosta chapel of Music Funeral Services.
