VALDOSTA —
Ann Hughes, 65, of Lake Park died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 11, 1947 in Valdosta to the late Earl Tee Burgess and Rachel Giles Burgess. Ann was a switchboard operator at Moody Air Force Base and then with Message Connection.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Mike Burroughs of Denver, Colo.; her son and daughter-in-law, Walter T. and Paula Hughes of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Brittney Gray, Garrett Burroughs, Tyler Cook, Tristean Hughes, Dawson Cook, Coltean Hughes and Ronean Hughes; her great-grandchildren, Jaren Gray and Shayla Gray; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Margaret and Al Pertimer of Jacksonville, Fla. and Mary Lewis of Lake Park; her brother, James Burgess of Lake Park. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter T. Hughes, Sr. and two brothers, Dean Burgess and Robert Burgess.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the graveside in Good Hope Cemetery near Naylor. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com. — Carson McLane Funeral Home
