VALDOSTA —
Herbert J. Harrell, 73, of Lakeland, Ga., passed away early Friday morning, Nov. 9, 2012, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 11, 1939, in Berrien County, Ga., to the late Lonnie Lee and Julia (Mathis) Harrell. He was a retired truck driver for Oak Harbor Freight Lines and was Baptist by faith. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force for two years and loved fishing as much as he could.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Janet S. Harrell, Lakeland, Ga.; son, Morris L. Harrell, Lakeland, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and John Nelson, Belfair, Ga.; daughter, Kimberly Cooper, Pocono, Md.; son, Marty L. Harrell, Boise, Idaho; daughter, Connie Hanson, Seattle, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law, Annette K. and Paul Shaffer, Davenport, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell A. and Lilly Harrell, Boise, Idaho; daughter, Melody Sevigney, Forks, Wash.; daughter, Mary Robinson, Boise, Idaho; son and daughter-in-law, Michael S. and Sylvia Harrell, Middleburg, Fla.; 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Charles Vaughn, Lakeland, Ga.; sister, Levon Golden, Nashville, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Nadine and Robert Stone, Doerun, Ga.; a number of nieces and nephews.
As per his wishes, he will be cremated and no formal service will be held.
