John (Johnny) Wright Pierce III, 57, of Quitman died on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. He was born in Valdosta on December 3, 1954 to the late John Wright Pierce, Jr. and Garie Pierce-Peeples and has been a resident of this area his whole life. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Viet Nam and was retired from the USDA as an administrative clerk. He was a member of Ousley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Omie Pierce; brothers and sisters-law, Wayne and Kay Pierce, Chris and Alice Pierce, and Jimmy Ray Peeples all of Quitman; nieces and nephews, Jeremy Pierce, Colby Pierce, Chris Blanton, Lee Brown, Lashley Peeples and Landen Peeples; other loving family and friends; his four-legged pals, Domino, Lacey, and Dusty (Tater Tot).
Services for Johnny Pierce will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Ousley Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Stokes officiating. The burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
