-- — William Henry Long, 98, of Quitman passed away Sunday April 29, 2012 at his residence.

 A life long resident of Brooks County he was the son of William Henry and Martha Agnes Chapman Long.  Mr. Long had practiced law in Quitman for over 70 years, was a member of the Quitman United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy.

 He is survived by his wife Florence Daniel Long of Quitman, one son; Vereen (Jane) McNeil Bell of Nashville, TN, two daughters; Tallulah (James) Whitesell of Quitman, Suzanne Long Spivey of Tallahassee, FL., eight grandchildren; Mary Bell, Leighton Bell, Eleanor, Hall, William Long Whitesell, Jonathan Marx, Julie Marx, Emily Spivey, Benjamin Spivey and great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Memorial funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, at 11:00 AM in the Quitman United Methodist Church with Rev. Sonny Mason and Rev. Jimmy Sharp officiating.
