Graveside service for Cora Louise Cannon Benton, of Valdosta, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 25, 2010, in Barwick Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery. She was returned to God on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Ms. Benton was born in Thomas County, Ga., on May 16, 1919, and was married to the late William Albert Benton, also of Thomas County. Cora was a member of Valdosta Seventh Day Adventist Church and remained true to her faith until her death, always participating in various church-affiliated ministries and witnessing through her kindness and caring of others.
She is survived by four children, Phoebe Valentine and husband, Jerry Valentine, Candace Edgeworth and husband, Doug Samuels, Wanda Guilliams and husband, Frank Guilliams and Donovan Benton and wife Cindy Benton. In addition, she had eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Cora will be missed indescribably by her children as well as her brothers and sisters in Christ in Valdosta.
