Ruth Jenkins Selph McMillan, 87, of Valdosta, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012, at South Georgia Medical Center.
She was born September 29, 1925 in Greene County, a daughter of the late Raymond H. and Estelle Thornton Jenkins. Mrs. McMillan was of the Baptist faith. She was a true “Homemaker,” dedicating her life to her family and the care of others and will always be remembered as a loving and caring mother and friend to many. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her seven children, Linda Selph Williams and husband John of Valdosta, Mike McMillan and wife Vicki of Leawood, KS, Paul Selph of Dasher, Ray Selph and wife Barbara of Valdosta, Frances Chastain of Valdosta, Frank McMillan, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Valdosta, and Ken McMillan and wife Nina of Valdosta; eight grandchildren, Mike Williams, Brad Selph, Dax McMillan, Rich, Blake, and Sabrina McMillan, April McMillan Parker and Chance McMillan; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several bonus grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Judy Jarvis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. “Guy” Selph and F.W. McMillan, Sr.; one sister, Evelyn Jenkins Rowe; and three brothers, Donald, Robert and Russell Jenkins.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. McMillan will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Riverview Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
