VALDOSTA —
Thelma R. Apperson, 71, of Valdosta, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Tifton on Jan. 26, 1941, to the late Raymond Lee Sr. and Lunnie (Roberts) Goddard. Mrs. Apperson was of the Baptist faith.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Apperson; and her brothers, Charles Goddard and Raymond L. Goddard Jr.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Larry Cofield of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Donald Sr. and Ruth Apperson, Valdosta; 13 grandchildren, Elijah Miller (Heather), Joshua Miller, Brandi Brooks, Donald Apperson Jr., A.J. Apperson, George Zayas, Harlie Apperson, Kellie Apperson, Emilie Apperson, Melissa McGhee, Cheyanne McGhee, Chris Posey, Crystal Posey; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
