VALDOSTA —
Services for Helen Elizabeth (Chism) Grant, age 87, of Dublin, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Pine Forest United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Steve Patton and Dr. Joel Dent will officiate. Mrs. Grant passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013.
Mrs. Grant was the daughter of the late Julian Paul Joiner and the late Luel Holland Joiner. She was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church, where she was an active member in the Ben F. Williams Sunday School Class, Morning Circle, Senior Foresters, and Golden Notes Choir. She was a loving wife, mother, and Memaw.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by her husband, Aurthur J. Grant, daughter-in-law, Wanda Chism, and brother, Harry Joiner.
Survivors include her children, Bill (Cathy) Chism, Jr., MD, and Paul (Wanda, deceased) Chism, of Dublin; step-son, Dennis (Tania) Grant, of Richmond Va.; grandchildren, Trey Chism, of Augusta, Heather (Kerry) Bridges, of Statesboro, Misty (Brett) Mullis, Augusta, Leslie (Justin) Hutto, of Rentz, Anthony (Brittany) Chism, of Dublin, Garrett Grant, of Leesburg, Va.; great-grandchildren, Ethan Bradford, of Rentz, Caroline Bridges, of Statesboro, Will Chism, of Augusta, Cameron Mullis, of Augusta, Lily Bridges, of Statesboro, Macie Hutto, of Rentz, Callie Mullis, of Augusta, and Grayson Chism, of Dublin.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family received friends on Monday, from 6-8 p.m. at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
