Daniel Lee (Danny) Ovaert, 79, of Valdosta died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013. He was born in Hammond, Ind. on April 1, 1933 to the late Adolph and Dorothy Ovaert. Mr. Ovaert owned and operated Valdosta Transmission.
Survivors include two sons and a daughters-in-law, Lee and Debra Ovaert of Valdosta, Danny Jr. and Linda Ovaert of Henrietta, Texas, his girlfriend, Wanda Day and her son, Tommy Day; seven grandchildren, Michele Bell, Georgiana Provenzano, Andrea Danielle (Gordon) Strom, Brandon Lee (Amber) Ovaert, Eric Daniel Ovaert and girlfriend Nikki, Patrick Ryan Ovaert, Shayne Frei; nine great- grandchildren, Zoey Strom, Evan Strom, Isak Strom, Cyan Ovaert, Adrianna Ovaert, Mia Provenzano Cox, Caroline Bell, Miles Bell, Amelia Bell and Rylan Daniel Ovaert. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Jeanette Massey; his daughter, Pamela Provenzano; and a sister, Joy Ovaert.
A Memorial service for Mr. Ovaert will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Dasher Church of Christ, with Mr. David Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
