VALDOSTA —
Gertrude D. Dickerson, 82, of Valdosta, passed away Jan. 26, 2013, at her residence. She was born May 2, 1930, in Turner County, Ga., to the late Ben Reliford Davis and Mary Delila Davis. Mrs. Dickerson was a member of the Sabbath Day Church of God. She was a good, honest and decent woman that loved her family, and a loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace J. Dickerson; two sons, Larry Dickerson and wife, Marilyn and Ronnie Dickerson; and a son-in-law, Ben Santana.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and William Spell, Lake Park, Sandra Santana, Lake Park; sons, Eddie J. Dickerson, Valdosta, Kenny L. Dickerson, Augusta; 22 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, in the chapel of Music Funeral Services where Pastor Billy Latham of Unity Sabbath Day Church of God officiated. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery.
