Betty Jean Hall Cowan, 73 of Valdosta passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at her residence. She was born on Aug. 26, 1939 in Nashville, Ga. to the late Plemon and Olif (Joiner) Hall. Mrs. Cowan worked at the Crackin Good Bakery. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dale Cowan, and two brothers, Willie B. Hall and Carroll Lee Hall.
Her survivors include her daughters and sons-in-laws, Judy and William Barrett of Valdosta; Joyce and Don Johnson of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Shannon Maine (Sherman), Daniel Johnson (Iris), Brad Johnson (Margaret) and Todd Johnson; five great grandchildren; sister, Christine Hall Gaskins of Franklin, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, James and Barbara Hall of Valdosta; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this evening, Feb. 12, 2013 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta.
