VALDOSTA —
Dorothy Jean Powell, 71, of Adel died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at her home. She was born on Jan. 30, 1942, in Adel to the late Otho B. and Anmell Taylor Wyatt.
Mrs. Powell was a member of the Church of God, enjoyed cooking and being with her family.
Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Brenda Powell and Jay Hawkins, Tanya and Shaun Boyer, Cheryl Matthews, all of Adel, Lynn and Red Smith of Hahira; one son and daughter-in-law, Timmy and Penny Powell of Nashville; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Odessa Powers of Florida and LaVerne Griner of Indiana; one brother, Donnie Wyatt of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Arthur Willie Powell and V.J. Hendry; one daughter, JoAnn Powell; and one son, Steve Powell.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Johnnie Quarterman officiating. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery near Cecil. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
