Evelyn Faye Hayes Burks, 74 of Ray City passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at her residence. She was born on Oct. 22, 1937 in Winterhaven, Calif. to the late Rutherford Berchard and Myrtle Alice (Griggs) Hayes. She was a member of Ray City First Baptist Church. For 10 years she was the owner of “Mode ‘O’ day” Clothing Store.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Howard Mason Burks, Ray City, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Kenneth Roll, Northridge, Calif., Cynthia and Brian Roll, Canoga Park, Calif., Cheryl and Steve Ryatt, Marysville, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Donna Burks, Henderson, NV; 12 grandchildren: Kathleen Holly, David Roll, Jeremy Ryatt, Michael Roll, Kyle Roll, Joshua Roll, Kelsey Roll, Tanner Ryatt, Andrew Burks, Christa Burks, Hannah Burks, and Kayla Burks; five great-grandchildren; two sisters of California; two brothers of California; a number of loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 Sunday, April 29, 2012 in the Ray City First Baptist Church. No formal visitation will be held.
