Edward C. Lane Jr., (Junior Lane), 73, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Clyattville, Ga. on Oct. 28, 1939 to the late Edward Comer Lane, Sr. and Ruby Hutchinson Lane. Mr. Lane was a retired farmer, served in the National Guard and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and collecting coffee cups. He loved his family.
Mr. Lane is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Mary Lane of Valdosta; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Lane of Valdosta; and one brother and sister in law, Brinson and Sena Lane of Athens, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Mary Jane Thornton; and his sister, Ruby Lane.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Carlton Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
