VALDOSTA —
William Gaines Castleberry, 93, of Adel, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Castleberry was born April 3, 1919, in Cook County to the late William L. and Jimmie Howell Castleberry. He lived in Cook County most of his life and was a retired farmer, a member of Adel United Methodist Church and also a Navy veteran of WWII.
Mr. Castleberry is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and George Roland of Franklin, Tenn., Ann and Dan Whitehurst of Franklin, Tenn., and Donna and Mance Daughtrey of Sylvester, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Kim Henry, Kane and Ashley Whitehurst, Whitney and Brian Fletcher, Clint and Heather Daughtrey, all of Tallahassee, Fla., Cody Daughtery of Jacksonville, Fla., Kasie and Mike Schweiner of Wake Forest, N.C., the Rev. Chad and Jennifer Roland, Shane Roland, Kelly and Chris Janson, all of Franklin, Tenn.; 18 great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Castleberry was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Ellis Castleberry.
The Castleberry family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Adel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chad Roland officiating. Interment will follow in Anitoch United Methodist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Adel United Methodist Church.
