Dora Saliba Vinson, 87, of Valdosta, died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Crestwood Nursing Home. She was born on August 19, 1924 in Americus, GA to the late Gabriel S. Saliba, Sr. and Amy Saliba. Mrs. Vinson was a department store and grocery store owner and operator.
She was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church and assisted with meals on wheels.
Mrs. Vinson is survived by her daughter, Teresa Abood Brown of Valdosta, one brother and sister in law, Gabriel S. Saliba, Jr. and Mary Saliba of Orlando, FL, two sisters and brothers in law, Jo Ann and Kenneth Burnett and Barbara and Wayne Alexander of Valdosta, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Byron Lincoln Vinson and two sisters, Pearl Beason and Juliet Hayes.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 25, 2012 at ten a. m. in the McLane Riverview Mausoleum with Father Dan O?Connell officiating. Entombment will follow after the service. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com. — Carson McLane Funeral Home.
