Mr. Robert Parker, 76, of Adel, passed away Sunday at his home. Mr. Parker was born Feb. 8, 1936 to the late James Caulie “J.C.” Parker and Ora Lee Pafford Parker. He was retired from Production Plating, served in the U.S. Army, was a member of Massee Baptist Church and lived in Cook County all of his life.
Mr. Parker is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Patricia Parker, of Adel; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tina and Walt Bristol, of Nashville, and Tonja Parker, of Adel; three grandchildren, Shane and Christin Parker, of Adel, Shawn and Melody Parker, of Lenox, and Taylor Parker Jones, of Adel; two great-grandchildren Jaylin Parker and Seth Hayes, both of Adel; one sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Stanley Daniel, of Lenox; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Parker is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Rentz Parker; two brothers, Joe Herbert Parker and James W. “Bud” Parker; and three sisters, Clara Rowan, Geneva Drawdy, and Juanita McCranie.
Funeral Services for Mr. Parker will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsay officiating and Mr. Franklin Luke providing the eulogy. Interment will follow at Concord Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. (U.S. Hwy. 41 South) in Adel.
