On Friday July 27, 2012 the Lord touched the life of His faithful servant Donald Augustus Perry at the age of 60. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. “Buster” and Oma Williams Perry of Valdosta, Ga.; and three brothers, Roman, Robert, and Leonard Perry. Donald served as vice president of public relations for the Chick-fil-A, Inc. where he was a dedicated executive for 29 years. He also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for The University of Georgia Arch Foundation.
Donald was married to Marilyn Baker Perry. To this union three sons were born: Brandon (Iris), Jason (Summer) and Donald “Kris;” and grandson, Jason Alexander; four sisters: LaVerne Shiver-Carter (Sully), Mary Nell Bryant (LaBarfield), Linda Denton (Lonnie), Velma Miles (John); two brothers: James Jr. and Bernard (Sheena), and a host of precious family and friends.
Home going services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Church of Christ where Donald labored as Elder. His remains will lie in-state at the church from 9 a.m until the hour of service. The church is located at 1939 Snapfinger Road, Decatur, GA 30035; Bro. Richard Barclay officiating. The family will receive friends this evening, July 31, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting any donations in Donald’s memory be made to the Hillcrest Church of Christ Building Program (1939 Snapfinger Rd., Decatur, GA 30035).
