Brinson Richard Taylor Sr., 66, of Panacea, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 20, 2012, at his home after an extended illness.
He was born September 26, 1945 in Adel, a son of the late Burle Brinson Taylor and the late Margaret Lanell Wright Taylor. He graduated from Valdosta High School, and is a retired farmer and U.S. Postal Service employee. After moving to Panacea five years ago he became a commercial fisherman. Mr. Taylor was very active at Panacea First Baptist Church, and really enjoyed the prayer meetings and Mens Fellowship Breakfasts. He was very well loved in his church and by the community.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Taylor of Panacea, Florida; three children, Stacey and husband Virgil Moore of Valdosta, Brint Taylor of Valdosta, and Stephanie Taylor of Jacksonville, Florida; one step-son, Stephen L. Wilson, M.D. and wife Lorre of Barbousville, West Virginia; five grandchildren, Shelbie, Cole, Saralyn, and Kyle Moore, and Ansley Taylor, all of Valdosta; three step-grandchildren, Stephen II, Evan and Katie Wilson, all of Barbousville, West Virginia; two nieces, Amy Taylor and Anna Taylor, both of Richmond, Virginia; one great niece, Peyton Louisa Wright of Richmond, Virginia; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bobby Taylor.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in the Chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. David Carraway and Wayne Cowling officiating. The burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service time.
