VALDOSTA —
Helen Dolores Carlo Carter, 73, lifetime resident of Valdosta, died on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Emory Hospital in Atlanta following a lengthy illness. Daughter of the late Edward J. and Virginia Carlo, she was born in Valdosta on May 25, 1939. Mrs. Carter was retired from Country Cobbler. She was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church.
Survivors are her husband, Albert F. Carter of Valdosta; daughter, Becky Carter of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and James Sweat of Mobile, Ala.; daughter, Nina Carter of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Albert F. Jr., and Mary Lee Carter of Woodbine; grandchildren, Amy and Fred Baker of Mobile, Alabama, Brooklyn Woodruff of Valdosta, Greta Carter of Woodbine; great-grandchildren, George, Charles and Samuel Baker of Mobile, Ala.; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Stella Carlo of Valdosta; sister, Barbara Carlo Baldwin of Schertz, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Ronnie and Mike Mowls of Valdosta; a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service and interment will be held today, today, Dec. 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Father Marvin Le Frois and Pastor Bruce McCracken will officiate.
