VALDOSTA —
Laurie Alexander Dutton, 58, of Valdosta died suddenly at her residence on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012. She was born on June 29, 1954 in Hahira to Arthur Lee Alexander and Bettie Durden and has been a resident of Valdosta her whole life. She was a Registered Nurse and had been employed in the past with Crestwood Nursing Home. She was a graduate of Lowndes High School and received her nursing degree from St. Petersburg Junior College. Laurie was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James (Jim) Dutton of Valdosta; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lee Dutton of Valdosta and Carl and Angie Batts of Ariz.; one grandchild and three step-grandchildren; her mother and step-father, Bettie and Edward Durden of Valdosta; brother and sister-in-law, Will and Marie Alexander of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Pauline Player of Valdosta; sister and brother-in-law, Nina and Randy Noles of Ray City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Anita Dutton of Tenn.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha and Wayne Brown of Spokane, Wash.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Rosanne Dutton of Pennsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Lee Alexander.
A graveside service for Laurie Dutton will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at 1 p.m. in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
