VALDOSTA —
Mary Crosby, 89, of Valdosta passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman after a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 6, 1923 in St. Joseph, Mo. to the late Paul B. and Bessie Harris and had lived in Valdosta since 1960. She worked for her lifelong friends, Millie Chitwood and the late Betty Phillips at The Party Shop from 1965 to 1987 and then worked at The Gift Shop until her retirement.
Mary was a member of Lee Street Baptist Church and a charter member of Azalea City Baptist Church and Crossroads Baptist Church. Mary was devoted to her church and one of her favorite church activities was rocking the babies in the nursery.
Survivors include her sons and daughter in law, Danny Crosby, Randy and Lori Crosby, her grandchildren, Jason and Casie Crosby and Justin Crosby all of Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2012 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
