VALDOSTA —
Ellis Julian Stephens Jr., lovingly known as father, papa, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away July 26, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer.
Julian was born on July 5, 1960, in Valdosta to Ellis Julian and Essie Virginia Stephens. He grew up in Jasper, Fla., and Valdosta and lived in many areas before settling in Belleview, Fla. He loved being outdoors and was a carpenter by trade.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Essie Virginia Conine Stephens.
He leaves behind two children, Deanna Stephens Makuch (Phillip), Richmond, Va., and Stephen Paul Stephens (Jennifer) of Greenville, Fla.; the mother of his children, Susie Stephens of Valdosta; five grandchildren, Haiden and Savannah Dixon, Jazmin and Daylen Makuch, and Elliott Stephens; his father, Ellis Julian Stephens Sr. of Jasper, Fla.; one brother, Grady H. Mixon (Joyce), Fargo, Ga.; two sisters, Barbara Stephens, Mary Stephens Wynn (Gene), Jasper, Fla.; special friend, Judy Todd and family of Belleview, Fla.
Family and friends will gather to share their memories of Julian at the home of his niece, Billy and Amanda Wynn Brady, Jasper, Fla., on Sunday, Aug. 5 at 3 p.m.
